Swear at the ref in Fifa13

With Kinect continuing to take over every gaming genre and franchise on the market, it is now targetting the sports games.

Fifa 13 will have voice-recognition using Xbox Kinect, allowing you to make substitutions and change tactics without stopping the gameplay.

Kinect will also pick up your reactions to the ref, including swearing. Commentators will say things like: “the ref didn’t deserve that.”

Madden NFL will also recognise your voice, allowing you to direct the game and command your team mates as you play.

While this may be a bit restrictive, with the focus being very much on Kinect, there is the potential for even more immersion when you don’t have to stop the game just to make silly changes, like a sub. The update to Skyrim is an example of this, allowing you to use dragon shouts with Kinect.

LEGO Lord of the Rings Trailer Released

Another year, another series that is made into a LEGO video game, not that anyone is complaining. Just in time for The Hobbit movie it looks like a LEGO Lord of the Rings is being developed right now. Similar to LEGO Batman 2 the game will have voice acting but this sounds like clips of audio from the actual movie. The trailer is a tad short of content but just enough to get any LOTR fan excited.

Dishonored gameplay trailer released

Posted by AJ on June 1, 2012

GameTrailers have released the first gameplay trailer for Bethesda Softwork’s upcoming stabby assassination game: Dishonored. To the tune of “what shall we do with the drunken whaler” the trailer shows more of the Dishonored world including the effects of the on-going plague, the government forces and plenty of stabbing.

Quite where the drunken whaler comes into it all remains to be seen but it does add in a whole load of atmosphere to an already dark and gritty looking game.

For more information on Dishonored check out the official game website here.

DC puts on the fighting gloves

If you enjoyed the popular title: Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe back in 2008, then you’re in luck!

Warner Bros. has announced a new fighter that will be developed by NetherRealm titled Injustice: Gods Among Us. The game’s plot will involve the heroes that we have all come to love turning evil and duking it out.

At some moments the announcement trailer does seem a bit ridiculous. It’s hard to determine what type of fighter this game will be, if Superman can send his foes up into space, as seen in the trailer, and Batman to kick enemies through buildings.

Spotted characters include Batman, Superman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn , Lex Luthor and Solomon Grundy. It has also been announced that the game will have just as many fighters or more as Mortal Kombat.

LucasArts announces Star Wars 1313

Well, sorry to disappoint all you Battlefront fans but the new Star Wars game that was going to be announced at E3 isn’t Battlefront 3. Yes everyone knows you want it but instead they have announced a concept that sounds promising!

Star Wars 1313 is going to be a mature third person shooter revolving around the story line of a bounty hunter and a criminal conspiracy. Hold up, hasn’t LucasArts already played the Mature card as their selling point? Ah yes that was The Force Unleashed and that game ended up being toned down and shortened to be less than Luke Skywalker’s right hand

But let’s keep our hopes up, Star Wars Bounty Hunter was a decent game, sure it wasn’t the greatest futuristic bounty hunter simulator but a game revolving around Jango Fett was everything a fan had hoped for! And blasting holes through wanted men with bloody detail and a dark tone sounds like it could be very fitting for a bounty hunter. Though the main question I have is who is the protagonist? I wouldn’t mind having another character I have never heard of but I would much rather be Boba Fett.

We will see more details at E3.

Also, if you pay more than the average and you can pick up the masterpiece Bastion! The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Dawnguard trailer released

Bethesda Softworks have released the first trailer for their upcoming game add-on for The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Dawnguard.  The trailer heavily features those creatures which stalk the night, vampires and the Dawnguard who seem to be a group of soldiers dedicated to getting rid of the vampires. The trailer seems to hint at being able to choose which side you’d like to fight on which should hopefully mean completely different stories depending which path you go down.  Also included in the trailer is a new weapon, the crossbow, which should make for some new interesting gameplay options for those who prefer the ranged combat.

So, which side will you be looking to choose to fight on?

For more information on the game check out the official website here.
