Rezzed is a relatively small gaming conference, but that doesn’t make it any less significant. Dean “Rocket” Hall, creator of DayZ, says that he enjoys it because it’s the only conference where he can actually play the games on show. Which is great, for him. For us, it’s great because we got to see the latest build of DayZ Standalone – with GTN in the audience.
The last build shown was at E3 but, unlike many AAA-developers, this was the latest developer build, not just a small demo created for the sole purpose of demonstration. And so while the video game world continues to reel from the Thunderdome-esque warzone that was E3, John, Jon and myself found ourselves at a little event they call Rezzed.
They define it as a “PC and Indie games show” and, as we walked under said banner and had our wristbands examined by grumpy looking suited staff, that was very much what we found ourselves in.
