Steam Cards

As PC gamers primarily one of the most used pieces of software in our inventory is Steam.  I have purchased on my account some 80 games and no doubt plenty more will come in the future.  It therefore makes sense to use Steam and the Steam Community as a basis for our PC operations as most gamers will by now have heard and no doubt used the service.  If you haven’t already viewed our Steam Community page then you can do so by clicking on the link in the bar to the right hand side of this post.

Anyway I had seen these ‘Steam Cards’ on various forums before and thought that they would be a very useful tool for you as readers and members of our community to find out what games we had been playing.  The designs we have chosen show the top 3 most played games in our lists, how long we have been playing for in total in the past 2 weeks, our Steam ID, Country, Icon and Steam rating.

These cards are great to show off to your friends on forums and making one is extremely easy to create as well.  I found steamcard.com to be the leading website for these cards and they update every 6 hours due to being hosted on their servers.  These are live updates so no updating is required.  It is just a simple case of putting in your Steam ID, selecting from a wide range of designs and then you are done.  You can either use the image code to paste onto a website or use the forum code for a forum.  Never could showing off your gaming habits have been so easy!

So take a look at our Steam Cards the ‘About Us’ page and compare our gaming habits with yours.

Tomb Raider: Underworld

I bought this game shortly after it came out, I think it was the promo screen shots involving the Kraken that made me get it [1] the underwater temple looked amazing and I refused to be put off by my last experience (not a good experience) with Tomb Raider which was Chronicles on PC [2]. So, if I bought it nearly a year ago, why am I writing about it now? Well, as you may remember, last year Q4 was a bit packed with games, so even though I bought it back then I didn’t play it immediately (I was somewhat distracted by Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead). Before I got round to Starting on Underworld I had also bought the Eidos collectors pack on Steam which included the two prior Tomb Raider games, Legend and Anniversary. Earlier this year I played Tomb Raider: Legend (Comparisons to Underworld will be made later) but didn’t jump straight to the next one (you can have too much of a good thing). When I finally felt like playing another Tomb Raider game I decided to go with Underworld as the plot caries on where Legend left off (it even has a “Previously On” video to catch you up if you need it), as it turns out there are some also some references to events I believe are in Anniversary, so with hindsight I probably should have started that one first…

I have to kept spoilers very minimal (and are plot rather than puzzle spoilers) but I don’t want people complaining that I ruined the game. If you are bothered stop reading now
