It has been well over a month now since Guild Wars 2 was released and Halloween is vastly approaching. What does this mean? It is time for its first seasonal event.
This will be a week-long event for Halloween starting October 22 in the ‘Shadow of the Mad King’ update. It is said that the update will include “a number of new features” and “new content”.
Halloween was celebrated in Tyria for times when the Mad King Thorn would cavort with his people, but he hasn’t been seen in over 250 years. The announcement hints at a possible boss fight: “Despite this, rumors persist among the populace that something wicked this way comes.”
The update will also include the previously announced paid tournaments, where players will compete in teams of five to win better than normal prizes.
You can see one of the screenshots above, but two more have been released on the event page.
