Square Enix have announced their newest title – Murdered: Soul Suspect – in which you play a character who investigates his own murder. Uh-huh.

As well as this teaser, featuring cigarettes, guns and problems with gravity, Square Enix have released a screenshot/wallpaper (from the Murdered Facebook page), below.

God knows how they plan to have you investigate your own murder, perhaps with some weird time warp stuff or incorporeal oddities. At one point in the trailer, the character gives off a spooky blue glow, while a hooded figure walks through him.

To be honest… ‘The ghostly homicide detective’ kinda sounds like some after-school children’s program on CBBC.

I’ve always thought that we could do better in the crime-solving/detective genre, and this could well be a step in the right direction. For one, amazing graphical content is a must, this is something which Square Enix can provide.

More information on the game will be released via the official website and the Murdered Twitter account, @Murdered. The game is set for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
