Hello everyone. I apologize in the long delay for my Diablo 3 review. I know the game has been out for a few months now, but I was hoping to progress through Inferno before posting anything, however, thanks to my wonderful job and me being in South Korea at the moment, I’ve found myself a little short on time.Anyway, without further delay… I present you with Diablo 3: A Long Overdue Review.
Review

As I have found myself playing less FPS games (persistent unlocks and hats to not appeal) my zBoard Merc with it’s dedicated FPS pad has been getting more and more superfluous. The FPS pad, and the resulting lack of a dedicated numpad, was getting in the way more than it was being used. I decided to remedy this by replacing it with a keyboard designed for Strategy and MMO games, the Corsair Vengeance K90. I have been using it for a month or so now so here is the lowdown.
There was a time when video games were not taken so seriously, where you could pick up a PS2 game without knowing what it was and most of the time you could probably enjoy it, while playing Lollipop Chainsaw that is one of the things that I was reminded of constantly. While the game itself isn’t the most outstanding product that has been released in years the one thing that the game does perfectly is that it doesn’t’ try to be like any other game out there. Lollipop Chainsaw is a girly, sugar coated, zombie killing spree that is a campy joy ride to play through, most of the time you will enjoy it but besides the game’s atmosphere there are some problems that may break your immersion.

“Today, it’s all about the Xbox 360, the only device that brings together all your entertainment all in one place,” said Don Mattrick, president of Interactive Entertainment, but what good is this for Gamers?
The last few E3 expos have been, arguably, a little disappointing. The focus for Xbox has been Kinect and now the newly announced SmartGlass. These are to improve the system’s entertainment experience, appealing more to families and amateurs rather than the hardcore gamers among us.
Windows Phone 7 users are often far behind when it comes to games on their phones. While we do have Xbox live and several games for it, we are often far behind the android market with games like Draw Something or Words with Friends. However, there is some relief for the WP7 users. Recently added to the marketplace is the Free game, Taptitude. Continue Reading
Back in the day Mario Party was the most intense game you could pop into a system. When this superstar competition went down between friends blood was shed, fingers were lost in A button mashing and you might have lost your palm to rotating the joy stick as fast as possible. Over the years though the games have lost their charm, competition and everything that made them fun originally. So our only hope was that Mario Party 9 would be redeeming the series as we hope with every entry. Sadly though, this is not the case at all and actually the very opposite. Continue Reading
A long awaited release of a classic game has finally come to the PlayStation 3. Its once again time to grab a board and hit the slopes in SSX: Deadly Descents. Continue Reading
Its been awhile since we’ve talked games from the Horror genre. Many of you may remember Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Well, I have stumbled across something that will probably keep you awake for nights on end. Based on the story found at SCP-087, this game takes place in a dark stairwell. Read the articles before attempting to play the game.
The game can be downloaded by clicking this link.
Can you brave the staircase?
Unlike my previous retro gaming posts on Doom and Re-Volt, Thief II: The Metal Age is not one I have played when it first came out, we can be sure therefore, that my opinions on it are not tinted with rose coloured spectacles.
Thief II the Metal Age has just been re-released on Good Old Games.com, along with the first in the series “The Dark Project” I thought now was as good a time as any to give it a go. GOG do ensure that any games they sell will work on a modern computer and operating system before they sell them, even if it means shipping them with DOSBox, we can however do better as both games have received fan patches that mean they don’t just run, but run in resolutions suitable for a modern monitor without letterboxing and upscaling. The GOG forums have all the information you need, for the first game you need to go here and for the second have a look at this. Note that for the first one there is an additional step to get the briefing videos to work which can be found in the second post of the thread.

It doesn’t matter how much time, money or effort you put into building a colossal gaming rig when you don’t do your due diligence in your housekeeping in terms of registry, defrags, broken shortcuts, temporary files and general optimisation your system. This can be a lot of work, especially if you are not what one would call a ‘computer person’ then you can find software that does it all for you. One of the options in this market is TuneUp Utilities 2012.
TuneUp Utilities is designed to help you manage and optimise your system and has been around for several years now; the 2012-version is compatible with Windows XP or later and is available now for £24.99. Software like TuneUp Utilities is nothing new, but the latest version of TuneUp was released December last year and, not only is it a upgrade on the previous editions, but it can seriously help to speed up your computer, whether you want your computer to run faster for high-end gaming, or just to be a little bit smoother when exploring Windows, chances are your whole system can benefit from changing just a few options.
