Recently Game Informer got a chance to play through a fifteen minute demo of The Last of Us to see what the game was like, even though they haven’t written anything yet Naughty Dog has released screenshots of the demo on their website. The Last of Us is a game revolving around and older man and a younger girl named Joel and Ellie. The most we know about the game is that it is supposed to be the first zombie game with a big emphasis on story. Hopefully we will see more at E3, until then check out the screenshots here.
Looks like the PS3 and the PS Vita are getting a good bit of characters that the Xbox 360 isn’t getting. The Sony versions of the game will include Pacman, Cole (from Infamous 2), Toro and Kuro and the original Megaman from NES, and no we don’t mean the pixelated one. Check out the new promo video below!
A lot happened in 2011 for Ps3, it won some people with it’s threequels and it lost some people with it’s blackout. But it was a decent year for PSN over all with games such as Infamous: Festival of Blood and lighter titles such as Okabu. These all have probably burned out your hard drive and Sony thanks you by giving you a list of more games that you should download.
1) Tetris (EA)
2) Resident Evil 4 HD
3) Infamous: Festival of Blood
4) Back to the Future: The Game
5) Dungeon Hunter: Alliance
6) Castle Crashers
8) Battlefield 1943
9) Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection
10) Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers
This week the long awaited Starhawk beta has finally been released to Playstation Plus users! Looks like it could be really good! Also there is a slew of retail games gone digital and even an indie platformer for you indie addicts. At CES Kaz Hirai of Sony stated that there would be no Playstation 4 at this year’s E3 stating “I’ve always said a 10-year life cycle of the Ps3 and there is no reason to go away from that”. Is Sony living in the PS2 days where they couldn’t be stopped no matter what or do they have something else up their sleeve? Well according to Gaikai, a cloud based gaming service, they claim that “there won’t be another generation of systems and that will be the biggest news of E3”. This shouldn’t be taken too seriously as this seems more like a fantasy than a realistic prediction.

This week portable gaming has had more than the usual amount of news so we thought we would give you an update..
-Nekkei Trendy, a technology website for Japan, that the “Lite” model of the 3DS will be released in Japan during the first half of 2012 as many of you probably already predicted when they announced the 3DS in the first place. Hopefully this new model will have the Circle Pad Pro built into it.
– Also due to the low sales of the PS Vita shops in Japan (A little above 40,000 units, behind the 3DS, the PS3, the original PSP and even the Wii!) have been lowering their prices unofficially just to sell them from their stores, this has been happening more often with the 3G models than the regular models.
-A new Monster Hunter game has been rumored over in japan, this could be a spin off in the series or a port of the fourth title in the series which as it stands now is a 3DS exclusive.
-Capcom has confirmed that 3DS owners will be able to download the demo for Resident Evil Revelations later on this year.
-The 3DS has sold over 4 million units at this point in time, Nintendo states that this is more than the Wii sold in it’s first nine months. The regular Nintendo DS has sold over 10 Million.
