Duke is coming:
2K have officially announced that Duke will be coming back to us on May 3rd in North America and May 6th internationally. In celebration of this announcement they have released a brand new trailer showing off more footage of the game including the monsters, women (including nudity), some insane killing moves and of course…the guns! It looks like a return to the classic shooting games of old which is absolutely fine by me and it has been mentioned that the campaign is three times the size of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s.
APB: Reloaded customisations preserved:
If you were one of the original players of APB and you invested a lot of hours into customising your avatar, vehicle and clothes have no fear. GamersFirst are planning on making all that hard work available to you when APB: Reloaded relaunches. CEO Bjorn Book-Larsson had this to say:
The goal is to let you keep ALL customizations you created using the old game. You will basically be unique thanks to you having played the game “back in the day” and our goal is to make sure your many gazillion of hours of investment do not go to waste.

The beta will unfold in 3 stages with access being granted to select members of the press, key community managers and the THQ team on the 31st. February 1st will see access being granted to all DOW 2 community site members that registered before January 25th 2011 and to those who have pre-ordered the game on Steam. The last stage will open to all Steam users who have previously bought a DOW game through Steam on February 8th with the beta ending on 24th February.
The information gathered from the beta will then be put together and readied for a balancing patch upon release of the game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops firing blanks:
Holiday Doc from You Tube has put together the video shown below showing us how hosting players on the Xbox 360 and PS3 have a major advantage over other players in multiplayer in Call of Duty: Black Ops. What is most amazing is how when the non-hosting player fires at the host their bullets do not register due to the lag. For a game which prides itself on being a competitive arena this surely put reasoning behind why more multiplayer titles should have dedicated servers to avoid this kind of lag.
Rock Band Network gets dropped on Wii:
Harmonix dropped their support for Rock Band Network on the Wii on the 18th January 2011 due to the smaller online install base. The Rock Band Network enables users to create their own tracks into gameplay files and then sell them on. The continued release of regular DLC for the Wii will continue as normal. You can see their press release below:
1/18/2010 will be the last scheduled batch of Rock Band Network songs brought over to the Wii. With the smaller online install base, limited demand for releases so far and the significant amount of work it takes for our producers and audio team to convert and process these additional tracks we’re no longer able to continue submitting Rock Band Network content to the Wii.
Red Faction: Armageddon trailer:
THQ have released a new trailer for their upcoming Red Faction: Armageddon which is an open-world action game set on Mars. The trailer shows off the destruction you can can create on Mars and shows you battling against aliens and another human faction.
Test Drive Unlimited 2’s first 10 minutes:
A video has been released showing off the first 10 minutes of Test Drive Unlimited 2 which is an open-world driving game where you can drive with others, play in casinos and walk around your property. The detail on the Ferrari depicted is excellent however the physics are looking slightly under par for a game where the developers have said that was one area they were concentrating on. Let’s hope that playing the game will be different to watching it.
The video is unfortunately in German but it should give you a good idea of the basics of the game:
