It’s time for another group of jams to bust through yo sound systems.
12. Max Payne 3 – Tears
Max Payne 3 to a lot of fans was a disappointment, but to newcomers of the series they got to experience a pretty fun 3rd person with a dreadfully depressing storyline, and the soundtrack to the game fits perfectly within it. Through all of the heavy hitter AAA games this year Max Payne 3’s soundtrack was probably the one that stuck out to me the most. While a lot of the songs are really ambient and smooth, some tracks really hit you hard, just like a drug.
11. Xenoblade Chronicles – Main Theme
Turning on Xenoblade is another one of those great experiences that you only feel the first time you put the game into your console. The piano begins to tell a tale of an attack on a city and young man leaving on a journey to stop it, then all the instruments join in the song for completion creating an unforgettable tune that makes me want to just keep the title screen on for days.
10. Dragon’s Dogma – Eternal Return
“Well here is another one of these game soundtracks for an RPG with a female vocalist. Wait, no this is even better! This song just becomes more and more badass as the song goes on!” Would be probably the process of your thought as you listen to this song, and you will only want to listen to Dragon’s Dogma’s soundtrack countless times.
Oh and this was a hard runner up.
Honorable Mention of the Day
Stacking
Stacking was one of the quirkiest, unique games that came out last year and I loved it! If the game had a bigger soundtrack I would have enjoyed it even more too, but after hearing this song repeat hundreds of times, it began to be tiresome.
