This is the second interactive trailer/demo we’ve seen for a game this week following the release of Dishonored’s ‘Daring Escapes’ gameplay trailer on Thursday. These interactive trailers are awfully good at giving two or more perspectives on how to do missions in the games they’re showcasing. This time it’s the turn of EA who have released an extended video of the Crysis 3 demo shown at this year’s E3. You have the choice to take on the mission in either Stealth or Armour mode. The latest trailer, ‘Hard-boiled Gunplay’, to be released from Square Enix for their up and coming game Sleeping Dogs shows off the gunplay in the game from the cover system, Max Payne style slow motion, high speed shootouts and explosions. It’s looking visually impressive and lining up to be one of the surprise hits of this year, especially considering it’s an original and new IP coming from Square Enix and developers United Front Games.

One soldier defies all odds on a battlefield on Auraxis in order to complete his mission in the new ‘Death is No Excuse’ trailer for PlanetSide 2. It’s a CGI trailer and looks incredible, even though I doubt you’ll be able to do half the things the soldier does in it. Still, what it does do is give us a great sense of what Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) are hoping to achieve with the game. Check out the trailer after the break along with some great news for those who’ve signed up for the beta. Continue Reading

Tripwire Interactive’s annual Summer Sideshow event for Killing Floor has once again returned this year taking place from July 5th to July 23rd and is free to all who own the game.
Following last year’s theme of the carnival where you had a look around the sideshow tents you’re now taking a ride through “heaven and hell” in new map “Hellride”. Along your journey you’ll be encountering freak-show themed monsters which have replaced the traditional monsters you’d normally be up against. Five new weapons from the IJC community weapon pack have been polished up and officially added to the game, there’s a plethora of new achievements to achieve, you can get new DLC in the form of the “Urban Nightmare” character pack and finally, “Steampunk Mr Foster” is once again available to be unlocked for the duration of the event.

Codemasters have released screenshots from racing sim F1 2012 originally shown at this year’s E3. The screenshots, although still a work in progress, look pretty good and it’s clear that Codemasters have been improving their Ego engine even more since last year. However, as with all games, it isn’t just about the graphics and we’re still waiting on Codemasters to release more information on the game which is due for release this September. Hopefully we’ll see something coming out of the pits in due course with the virtual racing set to start in less than 3 months.

Bethesda have released the walkthrough for ‘The Golden Cat’ mission in Dishonored which was shown off at this years E3. In the two videos after the break Co-Creative Directors Raphael Colantonio and Harvey Smith guide you through two different playthroughs. The first video shows off a stealthier appraoch to assasinating The Pendleton Brothers and the second shows off a more direct, action-orientated style of play. At the end of the second video you can also see the player take on the Tallboys in a fight in ‘The Flooded District’. Continue Reading
THQ and Relic have released the first trailer for Company of Heroes 2 which basically tells you some back history about the war on the Western Front and then quickly shifts focus to the war on the Eastern Front. You know, the one where 11 million soldiers died in Russia defending their homeland and 15 million civilians died, it’s quite shocking in comparison to the numbers on the Western Front.
Company of Heroes 2 will be taking place on the Western Front with you taking control of Russian forces for the first time in the series. Whilst the trailer doesn’t actually contain any in-game footage it does show off a bearded Russian soldier giving orders in CGI so it looks like we’ll have to wait until the next trailer to see the gorgeous engine in action. THQ and Relic have also released another 2 images of the game which you can view with the trailer after the break. Continue Reading
