Today THQ has announced to it’s investors that it was done releasing licensed kids games to put more focus on “core” titles such as Saints Row 3 and Warhammer. THQ opened up the meeting with it’s investors saying that they had sold almost 4 million units of Saints Row The Third and that they expected to sell 1-2 million more. THQ also revealed that their biggest digital sales were Saints Row The Third’s DLC and they have decided that they would focus on their digital services more too. This change of pace for THQ is very big and it gives hope that maybe we will see more quality products from the publisher.

This morning, Blizzard announced that they were cancelling this year’s annual festival where they usually hold rock concerts and showcase their latest in game-development.
Blizzard Entertainment, known for the World of Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo franchises, will be too busy working on developing games. A short press release from Blizz said: “We’re also heavily focused on getting Diablo III, Mists of Pandaria, and Heart of the Swarm into players’ hands as soon as possible.”
However, there will still be big tournaments for World of Warcraft Arena and Starcraft II later this year in the 2012 Battle.net World Championship Event. It will likely be one of the biggest eSports events of the year with pro-gamers around the world playing for the title.
The Championship is said to be taking place in Asia, but dates and times are yet to be confirmed. BlizzCon will be returning in 2013 for what will hopefully be the biggest one to date, considering their plans to skip this year, although this is of course good news if it means we get the next set of Blizzard games quicker.
Blizzard are known to be working on a mysterious MMO, named ‘Titan’, but the lack of news on that topic continues. But we are still expecting a few games from Blizz this year, including the next World of Warcraft expansion: Mists of Pandaria, the first Starcraft II expansion: Heart of the Swarm, and the third-entry into the Diablo Franchise: Diablo III, which is still in closed beta.

A lot happened in 2011 for Ps3, it won some people with it’s threequels and it lost some people with it’s blackout. But it was a decent year for PSN over all with games such as Infamous: Festival of Blood and lighter titles such as Okabu. These all have probably burned out your hard drive and Sony thanks you by giving you a list of more games that you should download.
1) Tetris (EA)
2) Resident Evil 4 HD
3) Infamous: Festival of Blood
4) Back to the Future: The Game
5) Dungeon Hunter: Alliance
6) Castle Crashers
7) Limbo
8) Battlefield 1943
9) Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection
10) Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers
Ever since the Nintendo DS was released Nintendo craved the attention of casual gamers, hoping that somehow an audience of gamers who play every month or so would turn out to be their money maker. They ended up going the right direction with games such as Brain Age and Nintendogs, not to mention their motion console the Wii ended up selling big numbers that led to Nintendo’s current success today. But there were other competitors that tried to rise to the ranks of the cute puppies and our sensei Kawashima that fell down the steps of bad sales. Elite Beat Agents was one of those games that sadly took the plunge of trying to appeal to casual gamers but only to find that they had been targeting the wrong audience the whole time.
Earlier today a listing for Resident Evil 6 was posted on Xbox.com On this listing the game was said to have up to 8 players online and up to 6 people co-op. The game is also said to have 2 player local co-op. This would all make sense since the last Resident Evil’s greatest asset was the co-op, plus the director of Resident Evil 6 was also the director of Resident Evil: Outbreak, the online multiplayer PS2 game.
A lot of websites, including ours, went black on Wednesday 18th January 2012 in an attempt to try to raise awareness of the SOPA and PIPA legislation currently proposed in the USA. I’ve been reading a few articles over the past few days questioning whether an internet wide protest is the most effective way of fighting things. However, here’s a few reasons why it has been effective. Continue Reading
For those of you who love killing zombies, are a fan of the horror genre, or remember the cheesy live action scenes of Resident Evil 1, be prepared! The trailer for Resident Evil Six has arrived and it is nothing less than epic. The question is what type of game will Resident Evil 6 be; a horror survival or a third person action game?
Today from 08:00am to 08:00pm EST (01:00pm to 01:00am GMT) Gaming and Tech Network will be joining the internet blackout to protest against SOPA and PIPA alongside sites such as Wikipedia, Reddit, Mojang, RPS, WordPress, Google and more.
Displayed in place of the normal site will be information about how to petition against SOPA and PIPA. Don’t worry though, if you’re not a US citizen you can still help if you want by petitioning the State Department. We’ll also have a ribbon displayed in the top right corner of the site from now until the 24th January 2012 linking to information on SOPA and PIPA.
We felt that this disruption is worthwhile since we have 2 US writers and our US readers. If this legislation is passed by the US senate it could change the way the internet works in the US, it may also affect us in the long run.
So join us and many others today in uniting to stop SOPA and PIPA once and for all.

Turn based strategy games are pretty big but Nobunaga’s Ambition is a series you may not have heard of. The franchise has been running for a long time in Japan based on the Sengoku Period of Feudal Japan where the goal of the player is to conquer and unify Japan. This seems to be a far fetched idea for the pokemon franchise. A turn based strategy game with the monsters sounds like a great idea, but I wonder whose idea it was to combine these two series. Let’s hope it gets a translation to english! Check out the new screenshots and trailer below!
