Path of Exile, developed by Grinding Gear Games is an action-based role-playing game with similar mechanics to that of Diablo 3. However, while Path of Exile may have some similarities, do not be fooled. This is NOT a knock-off alternative to Diablo. It is much more than that. Path of Exile is the game that Diablo 3 SHOULD have been. Continue Reading

There are moments in life where giant oversized stickers could make everything easier such as, making your talkative pal from saying another word, stopping the dog from peeing on the carpet, patching up your umbrella for a terrible day of rain and other crafty uses that your devious mind could think of. While you may not have these giant oversized stickers at your everyday disposal the next Paper Mario title gives you all the sticky freedom you ever dreamed of. Continue Reading

Plantronics GameCom 780 Headset

When it comes to the latest and greatest in gaming hardware for the PC, I try very hard to keep up. Having had so much success with the GameCom 377, I decided it was time for an upgrade and purchased the GameCom 780.
As far as headsets go, I could not ask for more than what the GameCom 780 delievers.

Comfort wise, the GameCom 780 is great for extended use. With its lightweight and padded ear cushions, I’ve found myself able to listen to music and play no games with minimal discomfort.
This headset also offers crystal clear sound quality with its noise-cancelling mic, which is always an amazing thing when you are a raid leader with a noisy roommate. As an added bonus, the GameCom 780 also offers Dolby Digital 7.1 Surround Sound, a great feature when playing first person shooters when knowing what direction you are being shot from is essential. The cable strength is also a plus, as I am one who tends to forget I am wearing a headset and have, on more than one occasion, broken cables by walking away from my desk with my headset still on.

Overall, the GameCom 780 is an amazing headset with amazing sound and voice quality, and at $79.99, you really can’t beat the price for a great quality product.

Are you any good at Street Fighter? Can you get to Telford for the First and Second of December? Well if so you might be interested in this: Signups for the UK qualifier of the 25th Anniversary of Street Fighter Tournament have just opened here.

To help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Street Fighter, Capcom is organizing a series of tournaments throughout the year in locations across the globe that will include over $500,000 worth of cash, non-cash prizing, and amenities. This high-stakes tournament series will culminate in a grand finals event held in San Francisco on Dec. 8, 2012 and will include players who qualify in the preliminary tournaments throughout the year. The tournament series will feature the following monumental titles from the past and present: Street Fighter X Tekken, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online Edition, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

To get you interested here is a video of the EVO 2011 Super Street Fighter IV AE Final

Now if only I had the time to go to Telford and then on to California. And also was good at Street Fighter.

Local multiplayer is a genre that most developers seem to forget these days, while there are games such as Borderlands and Halo, there aren’t any casual friendly multiplayer games that anyone can jump in and out of without becoming attached. Continue Reading
