Well this is an interesting turn of events…
OK first thing first, the indie fighting game Skullgirls, after much trouble that I won’t go into, is back on track. They are currently porting to Windows and Linux and are running a donation drive on Indiegogo to fund what will be an initially free DLC. The total amount raised will determine just how big the DLC will be and as of last night enough has been raised for two characters and their story mode and stages with a stretch goal for the third character still some way away.
So, there has been quite a break in service for the TWitU feature, but this week has been so big for fighting games that it needed to make a comeback for this special edition. This is a video heavy post on these big announcements and happenings so stay with me as we delve into the world of fighting games.
The Evolution Championship Series (Or Evo) is the big event in the Fighting game calendar. An annually held tournament that takes place in The United States with players travelling from all around the world to compete. This year they are having eight main tournament games, seven of which have been already been announced. Unlike in previous years however one of the games is going to be picked by way of a charity donation drive, the game that receives the most donations in it’s name will get that eighth slot and all the proceeds will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Evo 2013 is being held July 12-14 at the Paris Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas.
