It may seem like it was just yesterday that the worlds of Cloud Strife and Mickey Mouse collided to create Kingdom hearts, but Dream Drop Distance marks 10 years of the series’ lifespan. By this point in time most gamers understand what Kingdom Hearts is and have decided whether or not it is a series that is worthy of their library, and Dream Drop Distance understands that about itself. For a Kingdom Hearts game with Disney characters, vibrant colors and wonderful music, Dream Drop Distance is the worst game for someone new to the series to be introduced to. The storyline has reached a point where it’s hard to make sense even for a seasoned Kingdom Hearts player and it’s fairly weaker than the other entries in the series, the gameplay is a bit more frustrating than the other entries, the storyline is a bit off and the game might be better off without some of the new features.

The popular zombie mod, DayZ, is being made into a standalone game. “This is actually happening,” says DayZ creator, Dean “rocket” Hall.
The game will be developed, with rocket as the project lead, by Bohemia Interactive, the developers for ARMA 2 and, the upcoming sequel, ARMA 3.

The latest trailer, ‘Hard-boiled Gunplay’, to be released from Square Enix for their up and coming game Sleeping Dogs shows off the gunplay in the game from the cover system, Max Payne style slow motion, high speed shootouts and explosions. It’s looking visually impressive and lining up to be one of the surprise hits of this year, especially considering it’s an original and new IP coming from Square Enix and developers United Front Games.

One soldier defies all odds on a battlefield on Auraxis in order to complete his mission in the new ‘Death is No Excuse’ trailer for PlanetSide 2. It’s a CGI trailer and looks incredible, even though I doubt you’ll be able to do half the things the soldier does in it. Still, what it does do is give us a great sense of what Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) are hoping to achieve with the game.
